Deleting your account

In the app

Open Settings, then Delete account under Support, and confirm. The account is deleted at once.

Without the app

Write to us at support@shajara.sa from the email address you sign in with, or give the phone number you sign in with. We check the account is yours by contacting you there, then delete it exactly as the app does, and tell you when it is done.

What is deleted, and what stays

Deleting your account: under Support → Delete account. Your account and profile are deleted. The family data you added stays in the tree, no longer attributed to you, because deleting it would sever the relationships of other people who had no part in your decision.

Your card in every tree also loses your photo, phone number, dates, cities, bio and nickname, and keeps your name so your place in the tree holds.

If you own a tree, pass it to another member or delete it first, so that no family tree is left without an owner. If you can’t do that without the app, say so in your request and we will arrange it with you.

We complete a request by email within 30 days of confirming the account is yours.
